Getting a taxi from the airport
If you'd like to make your own way to your hospital, getting a taxi from the airport is the cheapest option. There is taxi service located right outside both arrival terminals. Normally the queue is long but moves quickly. Just tell the Taxi Kiosk "Bumrungrad hospital" - as this hospital is very well known in Bangkok. Please ensure the meter in the taxi is switched on. The fare automatically starts at 35 baht. There is an additional 50 baht surcharge for getting a taxi from the airport (payable to the driver that end of your journey), and we recommend that you take the "highway" - an elevated freeway that runs right into the heart of Bangkok, very close to Bumrungrad. The highway costs 70 baht in total (there are 2 toll barriers you need to go through - 40 baht then 30 baht.) The journey should cost around 200 - 300 baht, not including airport surcharge or highway tolls. If you get a taxi from the Airport or anywhere around Bangkok, best make sure you that you have 100 Baht notes to pay for your journey - very often taxi drivers don't carry lot of change. Tips are accepted gratefully by taxi drivers. For a journey from the airport to Bumrungrad, 20 baht is a good tip.
