Procedure information
No amount of surgery will help the average person go from homely to Hollywood. The average person cannot simply walk into a cosmetic surgeon’s clinic with a glossy photo of their favorite celebrity and demand to look like them. Results of plastic surgery are different depending on the individual patient. Age, medical history, skin elasticity, and numerous factors all influence the final effect of surgery, and a perfect outcome can never be guaranteed.
Recovering from plastic surgery can take days, weeks or months depending on the procedure you’ve had and your individual case. No matter what the procedure, recovery from any plastic surgery can be a bit of a roller coaster ride both physically and mentally.
There is a general rule of threes that many doctors and patients adhere to when it comes to recovery. Recovery can be broken down into segments of three days, three weeks and three months. Be aware that the three days following the surgery will be your most difficult days. The swelling, bruising and discomfort will be at its worst, and your physical and mental state won’t be wonderful.
Your doctor will have prescribed medication to help with pain and help you sleep comfortably. We also recommend and supply plastic surgery recovery products related to your surgery. Be very sure to use the ice packs, compression garments, sunglasses, bras or bandages as instructed by your service provider or doctor - they are meant to aid the healing process and help speed your recovery.
About three weeks after your plastic surgery, the swelling and tenderness will have subsided, and you’ll likely be feeling almost like yourself again. You will be able to return to most of your daily activities, and you, your friends and family will be able to see the results you were hoping for. How wonderful! But be careful now not to overexert yourself or take part in any activity that could set back your progress. You are still healing, and any trauma or injury to the area could affect your health and your long-term results. Be sure to continue following your doctor’s instructions, get enough sleep and eat properly to ensure a full, successful recovery.
At three months, depending on your procedure, you will be feeling more or less in tip top health. You should be getting back to life as usual with the look you wanted, and feeling fantastic. Even though you’ll be feeling fabulous, remember to continue to watch your nutrition, get adequate rest, and monitor your activity levels. Being careless now could still create needless problems and set back your recovery.
